Endlich geht es richtig los. Ist aber auch Zeit. Wie kurz wir vor dem Überschreiten weiterer Klima Kipp-Punkten sind, ist noch viel zu wenig bekannt. Ein Ausstieg aus den fossilen Energien ist daher absolut unabdingbar. Dazu müssen sowohl die Erzeugung von Elektrizität und Wärme, sowie der Transport auf erneuerbare Energien umgestellt werden.

Heute wird Al Gore zeigen, wie die USA ihre Elekrizität innerhalb von 10 Jahren zu 100% aus erneuerbaren Energien produzieren können. Wie ein 100%-iger Ausstieg aus Kohle im Bereich der Elekrizitätsgewinnung möglich ist. (more…)

Der von Ulrich Bartosch und Klaudius Gansczyk besorgte Sammelband enthält die Vorträge einer Tagung zur Weltinnenpolitik, die im Mai 2007 in der Evangelischen Akademie Tutzing stattfand und ergänzt diese um Texte und Dokumente zur selben Thematik, die z.T. schon an anderer Stelle erschienen sind. Mit der Veröffentlichung dieses Buches ist eine bisher unerreichte Möglichkeit der Information über den Gesamtkomplex „Weltinnenpolitik“ sowie über seine verschiedenen Einzelaspekte geschaffen worden. People do not notice climate change because it is masked by day-to-day weather fluctuations, and we reside in comfortable homes. Der neue Bericht “Zur Lage der Welt 2008″ analysiert die Chancen für einen ökologischen Umbau der Weltwirtschaft

Berlin, 22. April 2008. Am heutigen Dienstag wurde in Berlin die deutsche Ausgabe des Berichts “Zur Lage der Welt 2008″ des Washingtoner Worldwatch Institute vorgestellt. Der Bericht untersucht den weltweiten Boom bei ökologischen Reformen, Produktions- und Konsumweisen und diskutiert Innovationen, die nötig sein werden, damit die ökologische Trendwende gelingt. Mitherausgeber der deutschen Ausgabe sind Germanwatch und die Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung.

Für die Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung sagte deren Vorstand Ralf Fücks heute bei der Vorstellung des Berichts: “Wir sind an die ökologischen Grenzen unserer Wirtschaftsweise gestoßen. Angesichts des Klimawandels und einer weltweiten Ressourcenkrise brauchen wir eine neue industrielle Revolution. (more…)

Ein Wombat, ein australisches Beuteltier, sieht oft nicht so viel von der Welt, da es gerne in langen selbst-gegrabenen Tunnelsystemen haust. Aber es wurde dennoch zum Träger einer sehr wichtigen Botschaft katapultiert, einer Botschaft, die besagt: alles auf unserer Erde ist miteinander vernetzt, und wir müssen lernen, dieses Netzwerk zu erkennen, zu respektieren, und zu schützen, da wir selbst Teil dieses Netzwerkes sind.
