You have the power

Download this song to help spread the word on the urgency of effective climate action.

We still have time to make this planet a better place. But there is little time left. We reached the point in time when it is up to every single one of us to stand up and help to reach a climate treaty that will not be the death sentence for millions of people.

Download a new version of the song “The beds are burning” from the Australian group Midnight Oil in support of the  the tck tck tck campaign here. Tck tck tck was started through the UN, and is supported by Kofi Annan, to raise awareness about the upcoming UN conference on climate change in Copenhagen in December 2009. The hope is that it will help to increase action in support of an effective climate treaty.

“The time has come, to take a stand, it’s for the earth, and for all man.

The time has come, a fact’s a fact, the heat is on, no turning back.

How can we dance when our earth is turning?

How can we sleep while our beds are burning?

The time has come, to take a stand, it’s for the earth, and for all man.”

Help spread the word on climate change. The situation is getting tight, and we need each one of us to stand up for what is right, urgent, and the most important issue of our times.

This is our time to stand up, and to prioritize our actions and efforts for the sake of our future.

Inaction is inexcusable

One of the conclusions of the climate change conference in Copenhagen is that the time to act is more urgent than ever. “Inaction is inexcusable.” Sir Nicolas Stern clearly described that we CAN afford a low carbon economy. But the costs of action will increase with every year of inaction.

Action is rather attractive, Lord Stern commented, as it is a great [mehr...]

An open letter to Barack and Michelle by Jim Hansen

This letter from December 29, 2008, written by one of the world leading climate scientists, the US-American Dr. James Hansen, summarizes the major steps which he consideres as essential parts of Barack Obama’s policy if a climate catastrophe is to be avoided (I made some major points bold). For sure this letter will be controversial, in parts because Dr. Hansen [mehr...]
